About

Hello, my name is Robert Evans. I photographed my first wedding in 1989 and have photographed over one thousand weddings so far during my career as a wedding photographer; I still absolutely love what I do.

I want to share these wedding tips with engaged couples and anyone planning a wedding, with the hope of never hearing another sad story from couples who have had negative experiences surrounding their wedding photography. Every time I hear one of these stories, it leaves a pit in my stomach. I wanted to do something to hopefully minimize these stories and help couples take responsibility and educate them on how to not only love their wedding pictures, but enjoy the wedding photography process before, during, and after their wedding days have passed.

Most people would agree, wedding pictures are all you have left, once your wedding is over. In my biased opinion, a wedding photographer is one of the most valuable vendors a couple will hire for their wedding day. A common perception married couples share post-wedding day; I wish I would have hired more experienced vendors, with wedding photography usually at the top of the list.

I have spent the last thirty years of my career as a wedding photographer collecting and formulating each of the tips here on the blog. I have considered all my own trial & error, best practices, successes, and I feel I have put in the time necessary, before offering professional wedding photography advice to couples planning their weddings.

There is so much more that makes a great wedding photographer than their ability to capture pretty pictures. It takes a symbiotic relationship between the couple and their wedding photographer which fosters success, throughout the entire relationship. Not all the responsibility solely falls on the photographer for a successful outcome. The couple also shares the responsibility for the final result as well.

These tips are written with wedding photographers in mind, but with the purpose of educating couples. To open their eyes to what it takes on both sides of the aisle, so they may take a more active role when it comes to communications, expectations, photographic opportunities, selection, and how to experience a flourishing relationship with their wedding photographers.

In a nutshell, it’s all the things wedding photographers want their clients to know about the wedding photography process, before, during, and after the wedding day.
