Choose what you want to remember from the weekend
Let your shared priorities guide the destination, the events, and the photography.
Before the destination wedding plans multiply, imagine looking back on the weekend. What do you hope will stay with you: everyone together at dinner, an intimate ceremony, the setting, the music, or the photographs? Choose three priorities as a couple.
Give those priorities time
Share them with your planner and photographer before filling the schedule. If being with your guests comes first, leave room between events. If the place is part of your story, discuss when there will be time to photograph it with you.
Return to those priorities when you are choosing between another activity and an unhurried afternoon. Your resources and attention should support the experience you want, rather than making every part of the weekend equally elaborate.
